Hello Period | High Cervix Menstrual Cup
Have you found yourself ‘fishing around’ for that hard to reach or disappearing cup? Then the Hello High Cervix Cup may be the perfect solution. Designed with a longer cup body and a short toggle stem to make it easier to reach and remove, this cup is perfect for people who may have a high cervix position (longer vaginal canal) or who have had difficulty reaching and removing shorter cups. Cervix height is one of the main factors used to determine the correct style of cup. It is best to measure this during your period as your cervix height can change throughout your monthly cycle. Do not choose this cup if you have a low cervix.
The Duo Box provides a more economical option for trying two different size Hello Cups.

Hello Cup Sizing:
The Hello High Cervix Cup is suitable for people with a long vaginal canal. This usually means you can feel your cervix by your third knuckle. We recommend checking your cervix height during your period to help determine where your cervix sits. Hello also make different length cups specifically for people with a low or average cervix.
Small: This is the smallest and softest cup and is a great option for teenagers, petite users or those who prefer a ‘mini’ tampon.Â
Dimensions: 38mm diameter | 67mm total length (including stem) | 19.5ml capacity
Medium: This is Hello’s ‘one size fits most’ menstrual cup. It is best suited to users under 35 – regardless of whether they have had children or not.Â
Dimensions: 41mm diameter | 71mm total length (including stem) | 25ml capacity
Large: This size cup is best suited to users over 35 who feel their pelvic floor is not what it used to be. Physically fit people are often best suited to the Medium size Hello Cup regardless of their age.
Dimensions: 45mm diameter | 78mm total length (including stem) | 34ml capacity
Before first using your Hello Cup, please sterilise it by either boiling in a pot of water for 3-5 minutes, using a microwave cup steriliser, or by soaking in a solution made with a sterilisation tablet.Â
Many menstrual cups recommend using a ‘C’ fold for the easiest insertion. However, the Hello Cup is best inserted using a shallow punch-down fold. Keep the fold shallow so it does not go all the way down to the bottom of the cup.
Insertion:
- Wash your hands before inserting or removing your Hello Cup.
- Sit on the loo or try standing with one foot resting on the toilet seat.
- Choose a fold. The ‘punch down’ fold is a Hello Cup favourite.
- With a firm hold on your cup, angle it slightly backward toward the tip of your tailbone rather than ‘straight up’. Insert the entire cup into your vaginal canal until it is sitting a bit lower than where you would position a tampon.
- Release your hold on the cup once you have inserted and positioned it. It should now ‘pop’ fully open. To check that it has opened, run your finger around the base of the cup. If you feel any indents, try rotating the cup a couple of times to help it open completely.
- The length of time you can use your Hello Cup before needing to empty it will be determined largely on your level of flow. However, you should not wear your cup for more than 12 hours.
- To remove the Hello Cup, locate the base of the cup (don’t pull it out by the stem). Use your thumb and index finger to gently squeeze the base of the cup and release the seal. If you can’t reach your cup, use your muscles to ‘bear down’, or try squatting which will help shorten the vaginal canal.
- Once the seal is broken, gently pull the cup out. Tip the contents into the toilet, rinse and reinsert. If you do not have easy access to a tap, simply wipe the cup with some toilet paper.
Your Hello Cup does not need to be boiled or sterilised during your period. This is best done before first using it and then at the end of each period. After sterilisation, allow the cup to air dry and then store it out of direct sunlight.
During your period, simply rinse the cup under cold water or give it a clean with a menstrual cup cleanser. Ensure any residual cleanser has been completely rinsed off before reinserting the cup.
Some staining is normal in any brand of menstrual cup (especially in lighter colours). To help reduce staining, it is best to rinse your cup in cold water after removing. If staining has set in, then you can try using a dilution of white vinegar and water, or lemon juice and water in a 1:2 ratio. Let you cup soak in this mixture overnight and then wash as normal in the morning. Hello Period have also formulated a Hello Wash and Hello Go Travel Spray which can be used to clean any brand of menstrual cup or disc.
Hello High Cervix Cup FAQ's
There are a few reasons why you may want two different size Hello Cups:
- The larger for when your flow is heavy and the smaller for when your flow lessons.
- The larger for when your cervix is high and the smaller for if your cervix moves lower during your cycle.
- Unsure of which size will be the most suitable.
- You want to save money and give a cup to a friend or family member.
If your high cervix cup is not staying in place and regularly falls out of or protrudes from your vagina, it is likely too long a cup for you. We would recommend checking your cervix height and perhaps changing to a Hello cup.
The toggle stem of the Hello Cups is a bit sturdier than the long and/or flat stems of other menstrual cups. This makes it easier to locate and hold, and less likely to tear or break off.
However, it will also be less comfortable if it protrudes from the vagina, and while it can be trimmed, it will make less difference to the overall length of the cup than those with longer stems.
The TPE material of the Hello Cup does tend to make it slightly firmer than silicone menstrual cups. This may increase the chance of bladder discomfort. If you have a sensitive bladder, stick to a smaller size of Hello Cup, or try a cup like the Saalt Soft.
Both the Hello High Cervix Cup and the Hello Disc are suitable for use if you have a high cervix/long vaginal canal. However, a disc may travel upwards when you are lying down and could be more difficult to retrieve if you have a very high (can hardly reach) cervix.
Everyone’s anatomy is different and some people have more success with a menstrual disc rather than a cup and vice versa. The main differences include:
- Cups use suction to stay in place whereas discs stay in place by lodging behind the pubic bone.
- Discs are messier to remove and you cannot accurately measure your level of flow. They can also ‘autodump’ which can be both a great feature and a not so great one if uncontrolled!Â
- Discs hold more volume than cups, however, they still should not be worn for more than 12 hours.
Yes, the firmer nature of TPE material makes the Hello Cup a great option for people with strong pelvic floor muscles, who may find that their muscles ‘crush’ the rim and break the seal of other menstrual cups.
Medical-grade TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), is free of silicone, making it an excellent hypoallergenic choice for people who may have reactions to silicone products.
When warmed, TPE also moulds to the shape of each person’s particular anatomy. You may find that your cup has an oval shape upon removal, which indicates that it has moulded to create a custom fit.
