Saalt Menstrual Cups – Period care simplified!
The Saalt cup is a reusable and natural method for managing your period. The Saalt cup collects fluid rather than absorbing it, which helps prevent vaginal dryness and discomfort. This Soft version of the Saalt cup is the same design as the regular version but is made from softer silicone. This makes it ideal for women who have a history of bladder sensitivity, cramping, or discomfort with other firmer cups.

Soft Saalt Cup Features:
● Reusable for up to 10 years
● Softer silicone than other standard silicone menstrual cups
● Reliable, leak-free protection for up to 8 hours, including overnight. Can hold 3-4 tampons worth of menstrual fluid.
● The soft and flexible design makes it a comfortable cup, that molds to your unique shape. The Saalt soft is particularly good for women with sensitive bladders or who experience discomfort using firmer cups. It is also good for women who have super strong pelvic floor muscles.
● Matte finish and grip rings at the base of cup for easier removal
● Naturally non-toxic and odour free
● Made from 100% medical-grade silicone and does not contain BPA or Latex
● Stem can be trimmed to desired length
● Helps maintain natural vaginal pH levels
● Hypoallergenic and chemical-free
● Cup storage bag included
● Made in the USA
● Vegan
● FDA registered and compliant

Differences between the Regular Saalt Cup and the Soft Saalt Cup:

Saalt Regular or Saalt Soft?

Size Guide:

The Saalt Cup is available in two sizes. Most women can successfully use both sizes of Saalt Cup, the small for lighter days and the regular for heavier days, but one size may be more comfortable and more suitable depending on your particular situation. For those under the age of 18, the Teen size Saalt may be more suitable.

Small: Suitable for women with a light to normal flow (2-3 tampons) and a low to moderate cervix height.

Regular: A high capacity cup that is suitable for women with a normal to heavy flow (3-4 tampons) and a moderate or high cervix height.
While your level of flow is an important indicator for the Saalt cup, please also consider:

Petite physique: You may consider starting off with a Saalt Small
Tampon size: If you have only ever used mini tampons, you may wish to consider the teen size Saalt
Vaginal insertion: If you haven’t comfortably inserted anything in your vagina before, we recommend the size small
Vaginal Birth: If you’ve given birth vaginally, you may prefer the Saalt Regular
Physical Activity: Active users with strong pelvic floor muscles may prefer the Saalt Small.

Please check the position of your cervix (https://www.menstrualcupsaustraliaonline.com.au/how-to-check-the-position-of-your-cervix/) to ensure you select the correct Saalt Cup size. Because your cervix can change position during the month, it is best to check it at the beginning of your period.

How to use the Saalt Cup:

The first time you use your Saalt cup and at the end of each cycle, it is recommended to boil it for 4-5 minutes in order to properly sanitize it.

  1. Check: Before inserting your Saalt cup, first check that the four air holes in the top rim of the cup are clear and free from any debris.
  2. Prepare: Wash your hands and thoroughly rinse off any soap residue.
  3. Fold: Decide on a fold. The most common folds for inserting a menstrual cup are the C-fold, Punch-down fold, and the 7-fold.
  4. Insert: With your cup folded and held firmly just below the upper rim, slide it up and back at a 45-degree angle towards the tip of your tailbone. Your cup should be completely inside the vaginal canal but sitting lower than a tampon. Your cup is sitting in the right place when the rim is below or around your cervix.
  5. Position: Release the cup. It should then pop open and create a seal. To ensure this seal has been created, rotate the cup by pinching the base (not just the stem) and turning it 360 degrees.
  6. Secure: To make sure the cup is fully opened and secure, run a finger around the base of the body of the cup to ensure there are no folds. You can also double-check the seal by gently tugging on the stem. If there is some resistance when you tug, you have a good seal.
  7. Remove: Wash your hands thoroughly. Stand, sit, or squat. Use the stem to locate the base of the cup. With your thumb and index finger, pinch the base of the cup to break the seal. Wiggle the cup side to side as you gently pull it out. Empty the contents of the cup into a sink or toilet.
  8. Rinse and Re-insert: Rinse your cup in cold water. You may also like to clean it with a menstrual cup cleanser. Your cup is then ready to re-insert.

How to Clean the Saalt Cup:

Wash: Rinse your Saalt cup in cold water to help prevent staining. Use a menstrual cup cleanser to clean the cup. Avoid any cleanser that may irritate your vagina or cause deterioration of your cup. Clear the four holes in the rim of the Saalt cup by running under water or gently poking with a toothpick.

Sanitize: Sterilise your cup between cycles by boiling in a pot of water for 4-5 minutes or by using a microwave menstrual cup steriliser. The cup storage bag can be cleaned by adding to your regular load of laundry.

Store: Allow your cup to air dry thoroughly and store in it’s bag (or other breathable container) until next needed.

Some discolouration may occur over time. This is normal. If your Saalt cup is broken or shows any sign of deterioration, it’s time to replace it.

Previously had the Organicup for two years and found it was starting to give me pelvic cramps and irritation as it’s a firmer cup.

Switched to this and have had no issues.
I find the c fold is best for softer cups compared to punch down fold for firmer cups.
No leaks, easy to clean, holds position well.
Stem is not irritating nor is the cup too big. Highly recommend!

I’m happy with my Saalt soft menstrual cup. It is relatively comfortable and easy to use.

  3. Krystal D. (verified owner)

This cup is awesome, I did a survey to find which cup would be best suited to me (19 months pp second child) and this popped up as #1. So glad I found this, has made my periods so much nicer, I forget I have it basically! It’s easy to insert and get to pop open, holds plenty and not too hard to pop the seal to get out either. Definitely my favourite reusable period item.

The product is everything that I expected.

Chose the Saalt Soft because I have a sensitive cervix, but I should have gone with the Saalt regular. The Soft is extremely soft so it is hard to pop open.

  6. Caroline (verified owner)

    East and comfortable to use.

Used saalt soft for one cycle and so far so good! No leaking, no overfill. I used the lunette small for years but needed a bigger cup as my flow has become heavier. I still wanted a soft material so chose the saalt soft in regular.

The cup gets easier to use after a few times. No leaks and easy to clean.

  10. Laura (verified owner)

I put off trying a cup as I was grossed out by the idea and I’ve never liked tampons. I wish I had tried it earlier though because it’s so comfortable and easy to use. Makes my periods much easier.

I have tried a few different cups but this one is my favourite so far. I love the colour options, beautiful packaging & the way it works. Definitely one of the more comfortable cups I’ve used too! Highly recommend

Amazing. Best one I’ve used. It’s so comfortable and you can barely feel it. Love it. Buy it meow

Great size for heavy days. Light days I find it too long and uncomfortable to wear – but that just means I’ll need to get a small as well. Nice soft cup so you can’t feel when it is in. The stem is flat, solid and soft. I would definitely buy again.

Painful, uncomfortable and large despite being advertised as a smaller cup. Cannot continue to use as I am aware of it constantly. Left me in pain and was uncomfortable the entire time it was in. Waste of $50. Will purchase period underwear instead.

I ordered this after a lot of research. My first cup was a lunette which I have been using for years now and I liked but I was ready for an upgrade and something slightly more suited to me. For me, I found the lunette cup a little hard, the stem was a little uncomfortable at times and I wanted something slightly smaller as I have a lower cervix and experience fairly painful cramps at times. The Saalt soft is slightly softer (although not as much as I expected), I found the stem much more comfortable and it is very slightly shorter. Not hugely different to the lunette but I would definitely recommend. No leaks for me. Also, if you haven’t tried cups before, cups are life and world changing. There isn’t a one size fits all though or a schedule that suits everyone but if you take the time to work out what works for you, you are sure to be rewarded. I use period underwear when I am at home and cups when I am out.

Super comfortable, found that it was to soft for heavy days, it leaked during my heavy days but was fine on my lighter days

  22. Julie S. (verified owner)

Similar to the Pelvi cup, just a bit softer. Achieved no leaks after a couple of tries. Great for when I’m working long shifts with limited access to toilets

Previously I tried a menstrual cup that was too firm and it was uncomfortable to wear, causing pressure on the bladder. I recently switched to the Saalt Soft in size regular and it is working much better for me so far. It doesn’t cause pressure on the bladder and I cannot feel it once it is inserted.

I love this cup! I didn’t know what it meant to be leak-free before I used this cup. This cup has changed my period game and I am never going back! The stem is comfortable and the silicone flexible (but not too flexible) and it works brilliantly! 10/10 would recommend to others 🙂

Unfortunately not the right cup for me in terms of firmness, as it was too soft and did not create a proper suction so it would creep up during use no matter what ( I tried all the tips and tricks). This cup was recommended to me using the putacupinit quiz so a shame it doesn’t suit me.

Loved it. Definitely a convert! Other than the cramps, I could basically forget I was on my period.
