The Eureka! Cup is one of the most innovative menstrual cups to enter the women’s hygiene market. As opposed to traditionally designed cups, the Eureka! Cup can be emptied without having to remove it from the vagina. This makes it particularly beneficial for women who do not have easy access to a bathroom during their period. This uniquely designed cup has been developed by numerous professionals and has been successfully tried and tested by women of all ages, stages, and physiques. The softness of the Eureka! Cup also makes it beneficial for women who suffer regular UTI’s or who find firmer menstrual cups to be uncomfortable.

Eureka! Cup Features:

  • Made from 100% medical grade silicone
  • Free from BPA, latex, chemicals or other derivatives.

Insertion:

  1. Always wash your hands before handling or inserting your Eureka! Cup. Before first use, sterilise the cup in boiling water for 4 minutes.
  2. It is recommended to insert your Eureka! Cup while sitting, lying, standing, or squatting.
  3. If you are right-handed, hold the cup by its rim between the index finger and the thumb of the left hand. with the tip of the index finger of the right hand, bend the cup from any of its 4 notches to the deepest point of it (C-fold)
  4. Remove the index finger and grab the cup with your right hand without unfolding it. It is now ready to be inserted.
  5. Gently spread apart your labia with the left hand and insert the cup until it is completely inside the vagina (except for the tube/stem). Remove your fingers and the cup will pop open inside the vagina. You can also help the cup open by rotating the cup until you feel it has successfully unfolded.
  6. Insert the tube into the vagina, with the help of your fingers, until it is completely upright. The cup will be sealed and ready to go!

Emptying:

  1. Wash your hands before emptying your Eureka! Cup.
  2. Insert two fingers into the vagina and grab the tube. Always maintain pressure on the tube so that the blood does not flow through it.
  3. Point the tube down into the toilet and release the pressure. This will allow the blood to flow out of the cup and into the toilet.
  4. Once the cup is empty, reinsert the tube into the vagina as you did in the initial insertion process.
  5. If necessary, you can clean the tube with some toilet paper before reinserting it into the vagina.

Removing:

  1. To remove the Eureka! Cup, repeat the steps in the above ’emptying’ section.
  2. Instead of reinserting the tube into the vagina, pinch the base of the cup with two fingers. This will help remove the suction seal.
  3. Then gently pull the cup out of the vagina, using a side to side motion.
  4. Wash and reinsert, or sterilise and store until your next period.

How to use the Eureka! Cup

Inserting, emptying, and removing the Eureka! Cup can be a learning curve. We recommend getting used to your cup and finding the process that suits you best over a few cycles.

During your period, wash the Eureka! Cup with water and a scent and oil-free soap. The cup should be emptied and rinsed at least every 8 hours.

At both the end of your current period and the start of your next period, it is recommended to sterilize the cup. This can be done in a pot of boiling water, or by using the Sensual Intim Sterilizer.

Once cleaned, store the Eureka! Cup in it’s storage bag until next needed.

Correct maintenance of your menstrual cup will help prolong its life. Some staining is normal, however, it is time to replace your cup at any sign of deterioration to the silicone (ie. cracking, tearing, splits etc).
