Bfree - The world's first antibacterial menstrual cup!
The Bfree cup is a comfortable, sustainable, and innovative menstrual cup. It is the world’s first and only physically antibacterial cup. Just like other menstrual cups, Bfree is made from 100% medical grade silicone, however, thanks to one extra step, the cup has a superhydrophobic surface. This means bacteria cannot form a biofilm on the cup. This superhydrophobic surface is a physical characteristic, rather than a microbicidal treatment, meaning the cup is free of any chemicals and will not negatively affect the natural vaginal biome or pH. All of this means that there is no need to boil your cup EVER!

While your Bfree cup does not require boiling prior to first use, it is recommended to give it an initial rinse with clean water before using.
Insertion:
- Wash your hands thoroughly before inserting and removing your Bfree Cup.
- Use the ‘punch down’ method of folding to reduce the size of the cup’s opening – aiming for about the size of a regular tampon.
- Gently insert the cup into your vaginal canal.
- When your cup is inserted beyond the vulva, release your grip to allow it to open fully.
- Using the stem, gently push the cup upwards and angled slightly toward your back.
- The cup should now be sitting comfortably in the vaginal canal, between your cervix and vulva.
- If you feel the stem of your cup, it may mean that it is placed too low, or that you may need to use a smaller cup.
- The Bfree Cup can be left in place for up to 12 hours, depending on your level of flow.
Removal:
- Before removing your cup, remember to wash your hands thoroughly. Your Bfree cup is antibacterial – your hands, sadly, are not.
- Sit on or squat over the toilet or in the shower.
- Carefully reach into your vagina with your thumb and index finger and find the stem. You can either pull the stem slightly downward to more easily grasp the grips at the base of the cup, or simply reach up and pinch the base of the cup. DO NOT pull the cup out by the stem only, without first breaking the suction.
- Squeeze the base of the Bfree Cup to break the suction, then pull down on a slight angle to empty directly into the toilet or shower.
- You can now reinsert your emptied Bfree Cup, or wipe it clean with a clean cloth or clean water. Once dry, your cup is ready to store until next use.
Due to the super hydrophobic surface of the Bfree cup, it will be so simple to keep clean that you might be tempted to assume that it cleans itself. However, the mechanical action of wiping or rinsing the surface of the cup, actually helps the antifouling properties that make this product so special.
Therefore, always thoroughly rinse your cup under clean water between periods. You can use a gentle menstrual cup cleaner is desired. Ensure the cup is completely dry before storing it in it’s breathable storage bag.
With proper care, your Bfree Cup will serve you faithfully for up to 10 years.

Bfree Cup FAQ's
Yes, you can. However, if you have IUD, it is vital that you break the suction by pinching the base of the cup before removal. Do not try to pull the cup out without doing the above step, or you may risk dislodging the IUD.
No! It is not a contraceptive. No menstrual cup or disc will prevent pregnancy or Sexually Transmitted Infections.
You should not experience any pain, or be able to feel a correctly sized and inserted Bfree Cup.
If the cup is painful to insert, protrudes from the vagina, or places pressure on your cervix or urethra, you may need to consider a different size.
If you have unusual discharge, unfamiliar vaginal odor, vaginal discomfort, or frequent and painful urination, you should not insert a menstrual cup, and should consult with a medical professional.
The stem of the Bfree Cup is quite short and unlikely to cause discomfort when the cup is inserted. While it could be trimmed if absolutely necessary, we recommend not trimming it.
For most people, one cup will be enough. However, there are some situations where two cups might be beneficial:
1. If you would like a spare to keep in your handbag or car, so that you don’t get caught unawares.
2. Some people may find that their cervix height changes a lot during their period. They may opt for a longer cup for when their cervix is higher, and a shorter cup for when it is lower.
3. Some people like to have two different capacity cups. A higher capacity for the heaviest days of their period, and a lower capacity for the final lighter days.
