How to use the Stamina Freedom Cup:
Before first using your Freedom Cup and at the end of each period, it is recommended that you sterilize it for 5-8 minutes in a pot of boiling water (be sure the cup doesn’t hit the bottom of the pot). A microwave steriliser can also be used. Menstrual Discs such as the Freedom Cup are inserted and removed differently from traditionally shaped cups.
To insert:
Squeeze the sides of the rim firmly together to create a figure 8 shape. Maintain a firm hold on the cup while inserting the back rim of the cup first. Then use your index finger to push the cup up as far as possible and comfortably. Angle it back and on a slight downward angle while inserting, to ensure the cup positions behind your cervix. Finally, tuck the front rim of the cup behind your pelvic bone. It should now be positioned underneath and around your cervix and able to collect your menstrual fluid.
To remove:
Relax, insert your finger and hook it behind the front rim of the cup (the part behind your pubic bone). Gently pull the cup out maintaining a horizontal angle to avoid leaking. It should be noted that Menstrual Discs do tend to be messier to remove than traditional cups. Once removed; empty, rinse, and reinsert.
