Size Guide:

The correct size Juju cup is based on multiple factors. While childbearing history and age are the main factors, each woman’s individual anatomy may also affect which size Juju is best.

Juju Model 1: For women under 30 years of age and have not given birth.

Juju Model 2: For women over 30 years of age or women who have given birth

Juju Model 3: For women with a high cervix or long vaginal canal but who DO NOT have weak pelvic floor muscles (please check your cervix position) https://www.menstrualcupsaustraliaonline.com.au/how-to-check-the-position-of-your-cervix/

Juju Model 4: For women with a low cervix or short vaginal canal or for women who have weak pelvic floor muscles (please check your cervix position). As a general rule, the Model 4 should only be chosen if you are confident with removing a menstrual cup and are sure you have a low cervix.

How to use the Juju Cup:

Insertion:

  1. Wash your hands. To make insertion of your Juju cup easier, you can use a little water or water-based lubricant around the rim of the cup. Some people find it easiest to insert and remove their cups while in the shower.
  2. Fold your Juju into a ‘c’ shape, or other types of fold.
  3. Hold your Juju firmly just below the upper rim. Find a comfortable position, part your legs, and carefully separate your labia with your free hand.
  4. Insert the cup slowly through the vaginal opening. Direct in back towards the base of your spine. Do not insert directly upwards. Once inserted, allow the cup to open and then slide it into its final position. It should be completely inside the vagina but positioned lower than a tampon. Depending on your anatomy, the cup may gradually move upwards while being worn.
  5. Ensure the cup has fully opened and formed a suction seal around the vaginal wall. Swirl your index finger around the base of the cup to ensure there are no indentations that may indicate it has not opened properly. If the cup has not opened completely, you can use the stem to wiggle it open, use a few pelvic floor exercises to cause it to pop open, or remove and try re-inserting.

You can wear the Juju cup overnight or for up to 8 hours. This is around twice as long as you would wear a traditional tampon or pad. Menstrual cups are only for individual use and should not be shared.

Removal:

  1. Wash your hands. Find a comfortable position and relax! If you are tense, this will make removal more difficult. DO NOT try to remove your Juju by pulling on the stem. This will increase the suction and make removal more difficult. It may also break the stem.
  2. Use the stem to help locate the base of the cup. Using your index finger and thumb, pinch the base of the cup and break the seal. If you are having difficulty reaching your cup, try squatting or ‘bearing down’ (like doing a poo). This will help shorten the vaginal canal. Once you have grasped the cup and broken the seal, tilt it from side to side as you carefully move it down and out of the vaginal opening. Try to keep the cup in an upright position to avoid spillage.

Empty the cup contents into the toilet. Rinse with cold water and then re-insert.

How to Clean the Juju Cup:

Cleaning during your cycle: Wash your Juju with a fragrance-free, oil-free soap, such as the specially formulated Juju Wash. Ensure that the tiny holes at the top of the cup are clear. The holes can be cleaned by squirting water through them or carefully using a toothpick to remove any debris.

Disinfecting at the end of your cycle: At the end of your cycle, boil your Juju in a pot of water for 3-5 minutes (never boil for more than 5 minutes). You may also like to use a microwave sterilisation product such as the Ruby Clean.

Storing your Juju between cycles: After disinfecting, thoroughly dry your Juju before putting it back in its storage bag. Always store your Juju in a ventilated area. Do not keep it in a plastic bag or airtight container, as moisture cannot evaporate without airflow, which means your cup will not dry properly. Over time you may notice some discolouration of the cup. If this occurs, you can cleanse your Juju with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, or learn more tips on how to remove menstrual cup stains.

If you notice any rips, tears, or changes in the texture of your Juju, it’s time to replace it.

It’s comfortable when it’s in but really difficult to get out. Super hard to break suction. Nearly had to put my whole hand in my vagina. Quite painful. Probably won’t use it again as I’m scared I’ll end up in ER.

  2. Alecia G. (verified owner)

I LOVE my juju. This is my 4th cup.

  3. Janelle (verified owner)

Being a long time cup user, after having my baby my normal cup was just not right for me anymore as things have shifted and got lower. The ju ju is a great cup for those who have a low cervix! Love it

  4. Margaret H. (verified owner)

I had a mooncup before and this is similar, a great product:)

I purchased the #4 cup, it’s fantastic. Other cups I’ve tried were horribly uncomfortable but this one I can’t even feel once inserted. Little bit messy to remove but I think that is down to my inexperience.

The size was not quite right. The circumference and narrow shape great. A little hard or long not quite sure. Easy to get out. Diva cup often gets stuck.

  9. Elisha (verified owner)

I used this for the first time this cycle (40yr old woman with 2 cesarean births) and it was so easy and didn’t get “lost”. The cup is a bit firmer to others I’ve felt but still folds easily for insertion and didn’t shift once inside from side to side. The shape seemed to suit me and the grip on the retrieval tab and on the cup itself really helped with removal. I actually found that my period only lasted 4 days from beginning to end with only using the cup, compared to tampon/ pad combo usage for the previous 28 years … I really wish I switched to a cup sooner. Would’ve saved so much drama. ☺️

  10. Lindy Anderson Greville (verified owner)

I purchased the model 4 cup. I love that it is an Australian made product & that it is reusable. The instructions provided are very helpful. I have only used it during one cycle. It is very comfortable to wear. I recommend removal & insertion be done at home until very familiar with the process. Removal on my heaviest days was messy & is a lot different than a tampon. There is a mental adjustment that may take time to make, but so far I’m very happy I finally made the switch.

  11. Anonymous (verified owner)

Had difficulty getting it to open so there were leakage issues. Persisted for 2 days but in the end had to change brand (had no leaks with the other brand). Very comfortable to insert and remove. Will try again next month but I’m not hopeful.

I got a size 3 and chopped one stem piece off. The butterflies are very grippy which I love. I found the C fold and the punch down fold did not work for me but the 7 fold is fairly good. Very easy to clean and is fairly easy to break suction as there are 4 suction holes.

  13. Anonymous (verified owner)

I love the cup, only issue I have is that my flow is so heavy it fills up within 2 hrs

  14. Krystal (verified owner)

A game changer for me. First pain free period in forever. Took a bit of getting used to but by day 2 or 3 I was more comfortable and found it easier to use.

  15. Lyndall (verified owner)

This is my second type of cup and I am so happy with it. It fits perfectly and I cannot feel it at all when it’s in.

  16. Bianca (verified owner)

Great product. Easy to use. A lot more comfortable. No smell. Very clean. Doesn’t dry you out like Tampons can. Australian made

OBSESSED with this cup – I got the Model 3 for a higher cervix after taking the quiz, and it’s the perfect size, though I personally had to cut the stem down for it to feel more comfortable. Insertion is relatively straight forward if you’re already used to tampons, and removal only took me a bit of trial and error before I got the hang of it (bearing down with the pelvic muscles helps). I can’t wear it for the full 8 hrs on my heavy days without having to empty at least twice, and I still get cramps and back pain (of course) – but that’s a small price to pay for literally no leaks whatsoever and reduced waste/cost in the long term! Definitely recommend this cup!!

I had a mooncup before (lasted 10 yrs), that I had bought in the UK and this is very similar

I have tried other cups before that were either too long or didn’t unfold well once inserted leading to leaking. This one has been perfect for me in that it’s the correct length and is firm enough to unfold easily. It doesn’t hold quite as much as some cups on heavy flow days (so just need to empty more frequently) but it’s still much better and more comfortable than any others I’ve tried.

  26. Anonymous (verified owner)

Unfortunately finding the correct size was a little more complicated than expected. My first cup was the wrong size, and caused much pain, I will try again with another size.

I love the JuJu cup and highly recommend it to anyone looking to try it. It’s such a great feeling knowing I am saving not only money, but saving hygiene products being sent to landfill each month.

Really good product, have tried other products that were uncomfortable and didn’t work. I bought the low cervix cup and it is perfect for me.. such a relief and gave me back trips to the beach.

Amazing. Such a great way of reducing waste. Would recommend to anyone. Love the cup.

I didn’t do the cervix position test beforehand, so the size 3 was too big / long, and the ‘hangy-out-bit’ really irritated my vulva 😔 but the concept is great. I just need to budget for the smaller size. At $50 A pop, I can’t simply replace it without a budget ouch factor. So the learning for others – do the cervix position test before you order.

I am glad I finally made the decision to change to a menstrual cup. It’s extremely comfortable (much more so than the tampons I had been using before) even during all my activities, e.g. bush walking, yoga and jogging. I only need to empty and rinse the cup twice a day with my flow. It’s very convenient for my lifestyle, and I highly recommend making the switch.

  48. Lee-Anne (verified owner)

This was the first time I have used a cup. I used a water based jelly for insertion but found it quite uncomfortable and painful to remove. I stopped using it for the remainder of my period but will give it a try again next month.

  49. Maddison (verified owner)

Very comfortable, you just forget you’re wearing it. Easy to clean and maintain. Very discrete and great for the environment. VSCO girls would be shook

  50. Anonymous (verified owner)

I had tried a different “cheaper brand” first and it was not very successful, the juju is amazing. It’s comfortable and works perfectly

  51. Anonymous (verified owner)

I think I bought the wrong size/shape, the one I got sort of disappeared right up & it was a little traumatic getting it out. I am keen on the eco-friendly aspects of using one and sure it gets easier with practice but at the price, I will wait a little while before buying what I hope is the most appropriate one

  52. Pamela (verified owner)

I got the JuJu model 4 as it was recommended by an online quiz.
I recommend this cup to anyone who has a low cervix and who has had a baby. It’s quite wide and firm, while being short, so it stays in place instead of sliding down like my old cup did after I had the baby.

    No leaks unless it’s full.

  54. Annie (verified owner)

Great cup, got one for a high cervix. The rim is firm & I could feel it in there but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Great grip with the little butterflies on the base. Washes well.

  55. Concetta Salamone (verified owner)

Cup leaks. Inferior to other brands for seal.

  56. Anonymous (verified owner)

I ordered the low cervix cup, but sadly can’t use it. The low cervix cup can’t be used for very low cervix.

  57. Sophia L. (verified owner)

Comfy, easy to remove and insert. I had to trim the stem but that was really easy

I love Juju, i had a different brand and was time to get a new one. Im allergic to anything else and the cup had been a godsend, i have been recommending it to all my friends. I will always buy Australian products first before anything else.

Cheap long term if you use it but costly for some women to try. For me it has prompted seeing a pelvic physio. Not using regularly but hope to.

  68. Daniela (verified owner)

I am really happy since I made the change to using a menstrual cup. It’s easy to use and it’s convenient (as I don’t need to empty it as often as I needed to change tampons).

Very well made; packaged well. It is a trial and error to use it but I am determined to be able to use it properly and to be comfortable in using it. Great thing are the videos that really help me understand the anatomy of my body too.

  72. Anonymous (verified owner)

I do feel like I need to go “digging” for it because it really suctions itself in there! A ring pull instead mite help getting a better hold of it. It does take a little getting used to and can feel a little uncomfortable when initially inserted while it seals itself but after the first few goes I got the hang of it and it does work well.

  73. Sarah (verified owner)

Comfier than I could ever have expected and I honestly now wonder why I ever used disposable sanitary products before.

  74. Anonymous (verified owner)

Could not remove on my own, tried multiple times, and by partner tried as well, was too far up cervix. Had to go to a GP to remove it after 36 hrs, who also had trouble removing it – she had to use forceps and speculum to do so. Quite an unpleasant experience.

I was sceptical that I would ‘fit’ any cup, let alone the first one I tried. I can only sometimes get tampons to sit right, and I wasn’t overly full of confidence.

First cycle and I’m loving the switch! Removal was very tricky at first (took me a solid hour!) but some googling and patience worked wonders. No leaks after 12 hours, don’t feel a thing, such a fantastic product! Highly recommended!!

Note: I got the ‘low cervix’ option because I can feel my cervix halfway between my 1st and 2nd knuckles. I can find the stem of the cup easily, but I can’t feel it at all, and apart from the usual cramps I could easily forget I even had my period!

  79. Kass (verified owner)

I’ll never go back! Life changing!
Takes a bit of practice the first time, Don’t stress – second and third cycles just get smoother and smoother.

  80. Deborah (verified owner)

So easy to use. I love not having to use pads or tampons anymore, and not creating any waste. I find the cup hygienic, comfortable and it doesn’t leak. Highly recommend!

  89. Vicki (verified owner)

I don’t have anything to compare it to, however, I’ve had some leakage from what I now realise was incorrect insertion. I found it’s not big enough for my heavy flow on first couple of days of period. It is a bit awkward and messy having to change in a public toilet but it’s good to be able to go longer without needing a bathroom break. I’ve only used it for 2 periods so far so I’m confident things will improve. I may try a bigger cup for my heavier days.
