Product Description

The FemmyCycle is a receptacle placed inside the vagina to collect blood and cellular debris that is exuded from the uterus during menstruation. Unlike traditional menstrual cups, the FemmyCycle features a no-spill foldable rim that eliminates the mess of removal and provides better leak protection. Simply unfold the rim to empty and clean. A ring replaces the traditional stiff stem, significantly increasing comfort, and making removal easier. The FemmyCycle menstrual cup can be kept inserted for up to 12 hours, depending on each individuals level of menstrual flow. The FemmyCycle is a little bit softer than the other Silicone menstrual cups.

FemmyCycle Features:

  • 100% Soft Medical Grade Silicone
  • Invented by a doctor
  • Patented no-spill design for less mess
  • Ring stem for comfort and easier removal
  • Up to 12 hours of protection
  • Reusable and last for up to 2 years – saves money and the environment
  • Free from Latex, BPA, or animal products
  • Each FemmyCycle comes with its own storage bag
  • Made in the USA
  • FDA Cleared

FemmyCycle Sizing:

Before choosing a FemmyCycle size, you will need to know the position of your cervix. This is best done during your cycle since your cervix position can change, often sitting lower during the first few days of your cycle.

Teen: Perfect for teens, smaller bodied women, and those with lighter menstrual cycles.

Regular: If your finger is inserted as far as it will go and you do not feel your cervix or if your finger is inserted as far as it will go, but you can just touch your cervix, then the Regular FemmyCycle is the best size. The Regular size was also designed for women who have given birth or have heavier menstrual cycles.

Low Cervix: If you can ONLY insert your finger until the SECOND knuckle (2″), the best choice for you is the Low Cervix FemmyCycle.

Please Note: The FemmyCycle cannot be used with a very low cervix. That is, any lower than 2 knuckle lengths (or less than 2″), or with any degree of prolapse.

A few tips when using the FemmyCycle:

The FemmyCyle is a different design to many other menstrual cup brands and therefore needs to be used a little differently in order for it to work best. The following are a few tips that are important to consider when using this particular cup:

  • When inserting, Pinch the Rim of the cup together firmly in order to trap air within the cup.
  • Fold the rim at the ‘notch’ (which you will notice on the outside rim of the cup) into a “U” shape while continuing to grip it firmly.
  • Insert the FemmyCycle with the “U” facing upwards. In other words, the ‘valley’ of the fold should be facing upwards as you insert it.
  • One inserted, let go of the cup so the rim can pop open. Unlike other brands of cups, the FemmyCycle is NOT designed to pop open fully. This will create suction to draw the flow into the device.

Cleaning the FemmyCycle:

The FemmyCycle is simple to clean, and can be done a few different ways. Most often, all you need to do is use a mild, scent free soap and water. After emptying your cup, simply use the soap to clean the cup, and then rinse thoroughly before re-inserting. If you would  prefer to sterilize your cup, then you can do so before and after your period. Soak your FemmyCycle in white vinegar with hot water (1 part (25%) vinegar and 3 parts (75%) water) for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly afterwards and allow the cup to air dry completely before storing away.

We also stock a range of menstrual cup friendly cleansers which can be used to clean your FemmyCycle during your period.

Precautions:

  • Do not use FemmyCycle is you have ever had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS)
  • If you use an Intrauterine Device (IUD), it is recommended that you first discuss using this product with your doctor.
  • Do not use FemmyCycle during sexual intercourse. It is not a contraceptive and will not protect against pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Keep product away from children and animals.
  • Cannot be used with a cervix that is less than 2″ from the vaginal opening or with any degree of prolapse.

I haven’t used any other menstrual cup, and from other reviews I’ve looked at, it seems I’ve chosen the best and most comfortable one.
I can’t even feel it and is super easy to take out because of the ring at the end

I ordered the low cervix cup and it’s amazing. Previously I was using a regular shaped “menstrual cup” and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working for me. After much research I came across this menstrual cup that had a unique design and that also offered an option for a low cervix. Since finding this cup I’ll never be looking back! An excellent option for the environment, your wallet and heavy periods!

Very happy with this cup. It’s my second one, and I had found my previous cup would frequently get painfully suctioned onto the cervix, making it difficult to remove. I also found that the “stalk” at the bottom would stick out uncomfortably as the cup slipped down through the day, but it was hard to remove so I didn’t want to trim it short. This cup is a much better fit: no painful suction, the round loop handle makes removal easier and it’s a little shorter so it doesn’t slip out like my old one. Very happy, and the non spill rim is fantastic. Highly recommend!

It worked great the first month, but each month afterwards I got more and more leakage. It’s a very easy to use design, but maybe a bit wide for some people after using other cup designs.

This cup would not open when inserted, no matter what I tried. This resulted in really bad leaking issues. Really disappointed that such an expensive product is not at all functional.

Hi, Thank you for your review of the FemmyCycle, and we are sorry to hear of the trouble you had with this cup. FemmyCycle do suggest a few tips for insertion. Insertion of the FemmyCycle is different to other brands. Firstly, fold the cup into a “C” (cup will be shaped like a tampon), insert with the fold facing down towards the rectum (like an upside down U), once inserted the cup will open up on its own as much as it needs to. Do not worry about it not unfolding all the way, it should still function properly and catch the blood. Once inserted, only insert until the removal strap sitting inside the vaginal opening or resting on the vaginal opening. Then give the removal strap a slight tug; in order, to lock it into place and secure it from leaks. It is even OK if it hangs out a little, for it will aid in easier removal and ensure that the cup isn’t too close to your cervix. Please let us know if you have tried these suggestions and if you have more success 🙂

FemmyCycle was Very easy to remove thanks to the ring stem however the rounded shape makes it hard to insert and position properly. Ended leaking very badly because the wall is too soft for me to position properly. Diva cup was harder to remove but a lot easier to insert and didn’t leak. I’m not sure I’ll still use FemmyCycle.

    Leaks constantly – unusable

    • Naomi Overton (store manager)

Hi Louise, Thank you for your review of the FemmyCycle, and we are sorry to hear of the leaking you have experienced. FemmyCycle do suggest a few tips which are different to when using other menstrual cup brands. Firstly, fold the cup into a “C” (cup will be shaped like a tampon). Fold it by pinching the rim together so as to ‘trap’ air inside the cup (this trapped air is what creates the suction/seal once inserted). Insert with the fold facing down towards the rectum (like an upside down U), once inserted the cup should open up on its own as much as it needs to. Do not worry about it not unfolding all the way, it should still function properly. Once inserted, only insert until the removal ring is sitting inside the vaginal opening or resting on the vaginal opening. Then give the removal ring a slight tug; in order to lock it into place and secure it from leaks. It is even OK if it hangs out a little, as it will aid in easier removal and ensure that the cup isn’t too close to your cervix. Please let us know if you have tried these suggestions and if you have more success 🙂

The most important advice I can offer when buying a cup is to choose one based on knowledge of your own body, rather than other people’s expectations. Despite being in my 40’s, I chose the teen/petite size cup, as I’ve never been pregnant and found other cups too large for comfort.

I chose the femmyCycle cup for a number of reasons: it’s smaller than other cups (making it easier to insert), the manufacturer states that it doesn’t have to fully open in order to work (meaning it will conform to the user’s body), it has a spill guard, and a ring pull (to aid removal). Despite the smaller size it was still quite difficult to insert, but I found that a dab of water based lube made the process *much* easier. The ring pull is a huge advantage over stem type grips, although still difficult to reach when the cup rides up during wear; however, the ring enabled me to attach a small length of ribbon, making removal similar to that of a tampon.

The fact that it can be worn for up to 12 hours means I can sleep all night without worrying about flooding a pad, and it allows me to be out and about without having to worry about finding public toilets to change pads or tampons. Pairing the cup with reusable cloth pads has enabled me to avoid producing any of the usual waste associated with using disposable pads and tampons.

Was a bit tricky to start with as it’s different to other cups but I wouldn’t go any other product again.

The Femmy Cycle is a lot more comfortable for me than other cups (I don’t feel it inside me at all). I did have a few problems getting it not to leak in the first cycle (it’s a little different to use than other cups) but after some trial and error it has been going really well!
