How Mia Amika provides dignity to others

While only a new company to the menstrual cup market, Mia Amika, is ensuring that it provides dignity to others through donations and education. Mia Amika has alsoMia Amika Cup initiated a slightly different way to make a difference to our environment, through a pledge to plant 1 tree for every Mia Amika cup sold. Currently:

1. Mia Amika pledges to sponsor the planting of 1 tree for every cup sold with  Ecologi.com, however to date they have surpassed this pledge, sponsoring 1.5 trees per cup sold. 

2. Mia amika makes a yearly donation of cups to Share the Dignity, an Australian charity providing menstrual products to Australian women in need. 

3. Mia Amika donates cups to the Kalwun Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service. 

4. Mia Amika provides education samples to Life Education QLD and primary and high schools for the purpose of introducing new menstruaters to eco-friendly, effective and economical alternatives to single-use period products. 

Manufacturing standards:

  • The Mia Amika Cup is made in a medical device manufacturing facility to ISO standards (ISO 13485), and is made with FDA certified medical grade silicone.

  • Due to the ongoing debate about the use of dyed silicone and its effects on the body, Mia Amika is only supplied in clear, without the use of dyes. 

  • Mia Amika packaging is made from unbleached paper and is 100% recyclable (apart from the plastic unit pack – which may be discontinued dependent on advice from the TGA).
